Kenya Photo Tour Day 10 Masai Mara

Kenya Photo Tour Day 10 Masai Mara

Today was a travel day and we flew from the Ol Pejeta Conservancy to the Masai Mara, my favorite place in Kenya.  Here we will stay for the next 5 nights.  In the afternoon we went on a game drive and saw a lot of wildebeests, zebras, topis and hippos.  Soon we spotted a cheetah with two kittens.  She was looking over the Masai Mara grasslands for prey.  A topi with a newborn calf got her attention and she started to move slowly through the high grass towards the antelopes.  This happened pretty far from the road so it was not perfect for photography.  Over the next hour we watched the cheetah creeping up on the topi and when she was about 80 yards away she started running.  The topi saw her and run away and within a few seconds the cheetah caught the calf.
