2018 Camargue and Provence

28 June – 9 July 2018

After Michelle and I went to the Camargue and Provence earlier in 2016 to scout the possibilities and trying to find the best itinerary, I believe that our trip “France: Horses, Lavender and medieval Villages – the Camargue and Provence” is one of the best trips offered for photography.  This trip has also non-photography options for your non-photography spouses and friends.  As for photographing the wild white horses, we were able to team up with a local French photographer who has access to private lands closed to the public.  He has arrangements with a local horse breeder which gives us exclusive photography possibilities.  Our research trip was breathtaking and I got all excited working with the horses.  Just imagine that you have a dozen white horses galloping straight towards you through a swamp with water flying through the air.  Just before the horses would reach you, they turn to the side or stop in front of you.  I believe that the horses of this breeder are well trained and after a run they look at you kind of asking: “shall we do it again, or did you get your photos?” We will have many different situations and the sessions are being repeated several times.  It is an amazing experience and everyone will get the perfect shot.

In the small towns and villages are good restaurants and cafes.  They are small and have limited space for a group. We decided on not including every meal which gives you more flexibility to enjoy the local cuisine.  The meals are inexpensive, about 10 – 24 Euros.  We had excellent dishes for about 12-14 Euros and great menus with several courses for just over 20 Euros. Most restaurants have a menu in English.

With these exclusive activities, our trip is like no other Camargue and Provence trip.
