Indonesia Photo Tour Day 12

Fishermen returning from fishing in traditional Balinese dragonfly boats or Jukung fishing boats to the beach at Amed, Bali, Indonesia

Early this morning, a flotilla of fishing boats set sail from the beach at our bungalows.  Their vibrant sails capture the wind as they ply the waters, casting their nets for mackerel.  We clamber into a dingy and motor past them to the Katharina, a wooden sailing ship that will be our home for a week.  The wooden deck caresses my bare feet as I step onto the deck of this transformed wooden cargo vessel.  Leaving Bali behind us, we set sail across the Lombok Strait.  An evening stop for snorkeling introduces us to a myriad of sea life including lion fish, puffer fish, and black-tipped reef sharks.
