Kenya Photo Tour Day 14 Masai Mara – our last day
Our last day in Kenya started with a beautiful morning. We went to the area where we photographed the lions the day before in the rain and found them eating a wildebeest they killed at night. There was not much left and the lionesses and cubs started to walk through the grass to their hideout for the day.
On our way to the Mara River we saw several Cheetahs. The almost fully grown cubs were playing with each other. Arriving at the Mara River we saw a group of wildebeests getting ready for the crossing. They line up on the river banks and watch carefully the river. Sometimes they get scared and move back. It can take hours until they finally go into the river. We were lucky and after about an hour they crossed.
In the afternoon we concentrated on photographing animals which we did not photograph during our days in the Mara such as the Masai giraffes. The day ended with a great sunset.
